Thank you for bringing your experience to light. I am pre-diabetic because my diet, a diet that satisfies my craving for delicious (and fattening) meats and sides I know won't be healthy and are something I once embraced.
    Contrary to logic...
I have wrecked all my blood test numbers, high cholesterol, low sodium, red blood cell count, and surgery to remove a clot in my carotid artery. I am getting these under control now.
Here's to another step in the right direction. I don't think I'll switch to red yeast; I like wheat bread. I love butter. I like my cereal sweet...I have learned from your experience that it is a fascinating topic. I take B vitamins and Co-Q 10. It will take a while to accomplish everything I want to from diet. I can see from reading I need to do more. To txgrandma: It's painful to give those extra calories up!
I wish you and all those reading this the best of luck.

Thanks so much for your great info.

I have a similar story to yours. Like you, I listened to the "experts" on health and ended up diabetic. I knew that drastic changes were needed and through the grace of God, I made them and am now much happier and healthier at 45+ pounds lighter and at my last visit to my doc, he removed "diabetic" from my chart. I will turn 60 on my next birthday and am thrilled that it will be a happy milestone.

I had also discovered the lie that is the ADA. As soon as I saw on their website that some sugar is okay for diabetics, I knew they were a scam site. I suspect that most of their funding comes from drug companies. It was also an eye opener when I saw a TED talk on YouTube and saw that diabetes is a $250 billion dollar a year industry in this country. Obviously, they want us sick in order to increase their profits.

Through this LCHF lifestyle, I have recaptured my love of cooking and now can proudly serve my family and friends items that are actually good for them. They are constantly amazed at how "good" most of them are. I chuckle as I know they not only taste good but are also great for them. I know so many people who are in a similar situation and know they need to make changes but they are still listening to the "experts" and of course are addicted to carbs and so are not willing/able to make the drastic changes that are necessary.

Thanks again and I wish you the best in the future!
